Title : Pitch Day
Today was a very special day as every member of Studio 66 pitched their ideas for the project given to the studio a couple of weeks ago. The project is a soviet escape room virtual reality game, the game will last for 15 minutes and the player, Agent-K, must complete puzzles, discover clues, and save the work from a nuclear attack from the Soviet Union. The aim of the game is for the player to figure out the co-ordinate to change the missiles target and re-direct them into the ocean, saving the world and ending the war. There are three major teams in Studio 66; the graphics team, media teams, and the web team.

The pitch presentation also helped each team member to discover and verify their roles in their individual teams. From here, the studio will be busy creating all the necessary assets for the game and the marketing. The game is to be finished in about ten weeks, ready for the launch day on 30th of October.

My goal for this multidisciplinary project, is to improve my communication skills as a professional designer. Additionally, I would like to learn my capabilities working collaboratively with and managing a larger team. Lastly, my creative goals are to form a solid brand image through guiding the style of various visual assets in a soviet style.

Name : Cael Hodder
Hey, my name is Cael. I'm a graphic designer and I will be working on creating environmental graphics such as in-game posters, documents, notes and other imagery, specifically the Agent K Identity documents, secret battle plans, hand-written notes in Russian and bunker plans that show the player where they are in relation to the other rooms and the codes for moving between those rooms as requested by Michael Dodge. I may also create additional assets such as diagrams of missiles, workplace healthy and safety code of ethics, newspaper clippings and symbols for hazardous materials.

Name : Lisa Bee
My individual elements will be a Russian Typeface for use on screens and for animations for media arts designers. I am also the curator of the Behind-the-Scenes work which will document our design process from start to conclusion of the project. We can upload them to different platforms for different audiences, at this stage I’m thinking Instagram / IGTV and possibly Tumblr as well for the bloggers. The behind the scenes project I have called “Behind The Bunker”. This project, with the whole team collaborating, will make a great portfolio item at the end of the project as it should demonstrate our design thinking, research, ideation, testing, production skills and of course our talent!

Throughout this creative project I wanted to expand my knowledge on working in a team/studio environment and explore more within the constructivism. I've grown up with working in a team from sporting teams to workplace teams and have been more than prepared for this project. A massive part of teamwork is your handling of feedback from others, many people take feedback personally but understanding that it comes from a constructive perspective is what gives me the ability to take everyone's feedback into consideration and produce better work.

For this project, I will be assisting in the marketing campaign to promote the game to the target audience. This will include the design of various digital and print assets. These materials I will be creating for the marketing of the game will be a great opportunity to showcase my interest towards creating content that will appeal to target audiences. The idea of understanding the audience and designing in anticipation of their needs is an essential aspect of working as a professional in the Graphic Design industry. With that being said, Bloc-K will be a great project to test and display the skills I have acquired as a Graphic Designer throughout this course

I'm a part of the Film & Media department, and I will be making the motion graphic assets to be used on the in-game computer monitors. These include the 15-minute World Map missile animation (+ diverted missile sequence), the 15-minute Countdown timer, and damaged/corrupted placeholder screens. With these assets, I want to add to the environment and atmosphere of BLOC-K, embedding a sense of emergency and fear in the room. I want to not only expand my skillset in After Effects but improve my workflow in creative collaboration with various disciplines.
